Teaching your Finch a Thing or Two

Teaching your Finch

Watching and admiring your finch can be enjoyable, but it is surprising seeing him doing a thing or two. Sometimes, he sways if he is in the mood and he sings without any indication that he would do. You cannot anticipate training this petite organism to the great extent.

Finhe on your hands

It is usual for a finch to eat from your hand or to sit on your finger. Your presence can provide him comfort and ease. You have to speak to him gently and finely. Then place a small amount of bird seed on your forefinger and convince them to come near you by putting your hand inside the birdcage. Once he gets near you let your hand be still. Maybe he will be ashamed to hop right on at first. Don't frighten him, just encourage him.

The next time you visit him, you may not expect it but he will just hop right onto your hand because he is anticipating your visits with an expectation that you got a bit of seed for him. During your training, you must be patient enough and it will be a lot rewarding in the end.
